Scale

Power to 1 MW and distance to a km-class research horizon.

Scale: kW to MW, metre to km

Power and distance are not the same problem. The 1 m link does not “scale to kilometres” by drawing a longer dimension line.

Power axis

5 kW is specified and solved in Maxwell 3D. 25 kW is the physics gate: a single module, a kV-class tank, partial discharge.

100 kW and 1 MW are integration: paralleled modules, current sharing, a medium-voltage connection. The 1 MW concept uses about 240 kg of copper and 1.12 MVA.

Distance axis

1.00 m is the current industrial design point — mining clearance, tidal ferry gaps, depot geometry.

Multi-metre industrial gaps stay in the same inductive regime, with rising Q and copper volume.

Km-class is a research horizon (chained relay or beamed architectures, regulatory and atmospheric limits). It is not the same hardware as the 1 m link.
